The Nature Reserve of Py

The 3930 hectares of land in the Py Nature Reserve are part of the Pyrenean mountain chain, situated between Mount Canigou and the massif of Costabona. The forest is omnipresent, there are mainly oaks, silver birches, hazelnut trees as well as mountain pines. The large animals found here are: the Izard, the wild boar, the genet, the royal eagle, the tetras, the ptarmigan, the bearded vulture, the wild cat etc...... There is also a wide variety of plant life including the Pyrenean Lily and the burser Gentian.
